Pudd’N Heads is one of Hannibal’s best-kept secrets and caters to the shopper who enjoys crafts. When you get tired of walking catch a ride on the trolley or the Mark Twain Clopper after you get an ice cream at Becky’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor & Emporium.

For shopping, check out St. Petersburg Mercantile, Inspirations, The Country Shop. The Main Street Kitchen Store is known for the best quality kitchen appliances and tools. If you catch it right, Julie may even be having a class on how to cook something extra special. The Hickory Stick is a wonderful place to go for quilting, sewing and craft materials.

While you’re downtown, check out the Tom and Huck statue at the North end of Main Street - just one of the many pieces of sculpture that Hannibal holds dear.

Into Native American or first nation’s history? Visit the Native American Trading Post and find handcrafted jewelry, blankets, pottery and so much more.

Picture Perfect has beautiful paintings and prints of historic and contemporary subject matter. It’s just a great place to find something special to bring home. Right across the street is the Floodgate Gallery that features the work of Harold Pickern. His realistic paintings of old cars and equipment will hold you in awe. You’ll be amazed at the quality of art and art galleries in this small town. Be sure to visit the Alliance Gallery too.

HISTORIC ATTRACTIONS
Our historic Armory is one of the only WPA armory projects left standing in the United States. Clemens Field is home to a new baseball team, the Cavemen. This college level team will begin playing in the summer of 2009. This location also held Japanese prisoners of war during World War II.

A great place for an old classic movie is the Star Theatre on South Main. Right across the street from our new movie theater, the Star has been fully renovated back to its original grandeur and shows great old movies, with a full dinner and bar menu. For more old fashion fun, visit the Spratt Family Theatre and enjoy the lively performances put on by the talented Spratt family.


BED & BREAKFAST
Step back in time and stay at one of our many B&B locations. The DuBach Inn is an excellent example of Italianate Architecture with many beautiful rooms to choose from. The Garden House B&B is also close to downtown and shopping. Heaven Sent, Robard’s Mansion and Reagan’s Queen Anne B&B are so beautiful and cozy it is hard to choose. Consider the Stone School Inn, it is a converted school and is in a picturesque, rural, hidden location north of town.One of our most famous locations is the Rockcliffe Mansion right on a bluff overlooking the city at the center of town. This showplace home was built in 1900 for the Cruikshank family.


HISTORIC HANNIBAL
For train buffs, there is the Big River Train Museum and you’ll be delighted to know that over 20 trains travel through Hannibal each day going both North, South, East and West. There is also a unique train truss bridge and tunnel within walking distance of downtown.

History comes alive in Hannibal when you take the walking tour of the historic homes and businesses. Stop by the Hannibal Convention & Visitors Bureau for self-guided walking maps of different historic areas. You’ll see beautiful homes and unique buildings. Even our city buildings are beautifully designed. Don’t miss the Courthouse on Broadway, the City Hall building at Broadway and 4th and the Hannibal Free Public Library at 4th and Lion. The historic Mark Twain Hotel has been renovated into beautiful, modern apartments.
